'JackHammer' news: Closed alpha registration is now open

The closed alpha registration for "JackHammer," the fast-paced first-person shooter (FPS) game developed by Mission Ctrl Studios and published by Green Man Gaming Publishing, is now open.

Tom Duffus, the Creative Director at Mission Ctrl Studios, announced that the closed alpha registration for the game is now open for U.S. and European Union (EU) users. PC Gamer reported that a second closed alpha is being planned for other regions. U.S. and EU players who are interested to join may sign-up at this link to get keys that will be sent out a few days before the Alpha goes live. Duffus warned Alpha players that they may experience bugs as this is the first time "JackHammer" will be tested in the hands of the gaming community.

According to the Steam page of the upcoming game, "JackHammer" is set in the near future wherein military technology corporations have formed the International Robotics Combat Association. These corporations pit their unfortunate revolutionary humanoid weapons against one another in arenas all around the world. These robots launch iridium-alloy MurderBalls at their opponents while fans cheer. "JackHammer" is a desperate and savage survival game where reactions and reflexes are the only things that can save robots from the possibility of a being crushed by metal balls.

The game is powered by Unreal Engine 4 and features an electronic soundtrack which provides the scores during combats. The game also features a multiplayer future sport in purpose-built combat arenas and a fully customizable robotic armors for players to create their own unique combatant. Players must hone their skills and prove their mastery with trick shots, rebounds and superhuman agility to make their way through online rankings. 

"JackHammer" will release for Microsoft Windows. There is no price listed for the game on Steam at the moment.
