Apple is reportedly working on releasing its newest iPod Touch, the fastest all-purpose pocket computer that the company has ever released. The newest model will reportedly bring the iPod Touch up to speed along with all the other handheld devices in the company's catalog.
Apple is also rumored to be releasing new models for the iPod Nano and iPod Shuffle together with the iPod Touch. It's unclear whether the other devices will also be receiving hardware upgrades of their own, but what is being suggested for now is that new colors are almost certainly coming.
According to Business Insider, the iPod Nano, Shuffle and Touch are all in line to receive new colors. The new selection of colors reportedly includes black, electric blue, gray, gold, fuschia and pink, though this news is also unconfirmed.
As of now, Apple is said to be preparing to announce its newest iPods right around July 14, but this too is a rumor as of now.
It is worth noting that the supposedly imminent release of the new iPods will coincide with Apple releasing the beta version of the iOS 9, the latest version of its operating system.
The new iPods may come fully equipped with the latest operating system from the company upon launch if the timeline proves to be more than coincidental, but nothing is official at the moment.
According to Telegraph UK, the newest iPod Touch will supposedly be equipped with a new 64-bit processor, which will be a significant step up from its current 32-bit accompaniment.
Along with a new processor, the iPod Touch is also reportedly receiving an upgraded camera and storage capacity. If the rumors are true, it will mark the first time since 2012 that the iPod Touch was upgraded, and it appears as though Apple is still not done.
