Speculations suggest that Apple will add another iteration in the upcoming iPad Pro 2 lineup. However, rumors also said that instead of just another slate, the 10-inch iPad Pro 2 version will offer massive improvements.
According to MacRumors, analysts from Barclays Research point out that there will be a new 10-inch iPad Pro 2, based on supposed inside sources from third-party supply partners. The current iPad Pro lineup has two versions: the original 12.9-inch version released last year and a smaller 9.7-inch variant launched early this year.
Supposedly, the new 10-inch version will also include a number of improvements that may well roll out to future iPad releases. The industry follower stated that as per the research notes, the 10-inch model will feature a borderless design, which means that it will have a bezel-less display and will be released without the physical home button on the front panel.
Meanwhile, there are conflicting reports on what the new version will be. While the Barclays analysts say that Apple will introduce a new 10.9-inch version for the iPad Pro 2, other analysts disagree. Noted KGI Securities analyst and Apple soothsayer Ming-Chi Kuo has stated that a new slate will have a 10.5-inch display, while others say that it will have a 10.1-inch screen.
In addition to the new 10-inch version, it is also expected that the Cupertino-based company will release an entry-level slate to complement the top-tier iPad Pro 2. Supposedly, the much-awaited iPad Air 3 will appear with the new Pro versions as the budget-friendly tablet for the iPad 2017 lineup. However, the observers agree that Apple will realign its slate lineup only with the iPad Air 3 and iPad Pro 2, with the rumored iPad Mini 5 a no-show. Apple will supposedly continue selling the iPad Mini 4 as its 7.9-inch tablet variant.
