"Injustice 2" may not have been released yet, but the hype about it has just become more intense with the announcement of the "War of the Gods" circuit tournament, in which $15,000 is at stake.

The tournament is free to enter and open to players across the United States and Canada. It will start on May 20, at 6 p.m. EDT, and will run for 10 weeks. Competitions will be held on Saturdays. However, once the number of players has been narrowed down to the top 8 for the finals, battles will take place on Tuesdays. The season finale is scheduled on Sept. 17.

According to iDigitalTimes, the first place winner will get $4,000, the second place will earn $2,500, and the third place will claim $1,500. The fourth place will win $1,000, while both the fifth and sixth placers will receive $500. Weekly prizes will also be given out. Aside from these, cash will be given to those who get fourth place and higher rankings. Meanwhile, those who place between fifth and 32nd place will get league points, the total amount of which will depend on their rankings in the competition.

Those who are interested in joining the competition can sign up here. Meanwhile, those who are interested in watching the tournament unfold — and maybe pick up moves along the way — can watch the games, which will be live-streamed on StreamMe.

"Injustice 2" is the sequel to "Injustice Gods Among Us." Both games are produced by NetherRealm Studios. The game will see a universe where DC comics heroes will fight against each other and even ally with villains after the events of the first game, when Superman, who became an evil dictator, was overthrown by Batman. Thirty playable characters have been unveiled so far, although more will be released as downloadable content in the coming months. It is scheduled for release on May 16 in North America.
