Although Apple has just concluded a press launch, it is said that the Cupertino-based tech giant will hold another launch event next month. Supposedly, the October event will see the debut of the new work-focused Apple lineups like the 2016 edition of the iMac.

Supposedly, the October launch is just in time for Apple's yearly cycle for its desktop lineup. The current-generation iMac has been launched as an improved version in October last year. However, instead of routine updates that the 2015 iMac received, the 2016 edition will have major upgrades over its predecessor.

Speculations suggest that one expected improvement for the new iMac lineups will be an upgrade in its performance, as Apple is expected to feature the newly-released Intel Kaby Lake chipsets in the desktops. The seventh-generation processor will then be paired with a number of configuration choices for its RAM and onboard storage. There are also talks suggesting that since iMacs are more popular for graphics-based tasks, an overhauled GPU chipset is also in the pipeline. Rumor has it that Apple is setting its sights on the Polaris-based AMD RX 4XX series of graphics cards.

Meanwhile, International Business Times predicts that Apple will want to take advantage of these improvements, and will add new features to the 2016 iMac lineups. Ostensibly, with a more powerful processor and GPU pairing, a top-tier iMac is capable of offering VR support, a definite feature for the Polaris-based AMD GPUs. Its display may get an upgrade, although it remains unclear if it will have a minor Retina update or a major upgrade — switching over to OLED technology.

Meanwhile, aside from the 2016 iMac, it is also said that Apple is readying the launch of its new edition laptops, starting with the overhauled MacBook Pro. Supposed leaks about the top-tier, 2016 version of the laptop have already surfaced online, listing new features like significantly improved specs, new OLED Touch panel, and use of the Touch ID.
