The HTC One 2, also known as the HTC M8, is perhaps not going to release at the Mobile World Congress.
The rumor doing the rounds is that the highly anticipated follow up to the hugely successful HTC One will skip the congress and instead release a few weeks later in March.
That's according to an insider who spoke to Bloomberg. The secret source also alleged that the new model would have a sceen larger than the One's 4.7 inches and smaller than the One Max's 5.9 inches.
The source says the screen of the HTC One 2 will be at least 5 inches, and that the device will come with a better version of the One's Ultrapixel camera.
Meanwhile, it's update season for HTC One users. An Android 4.4 KitKat update is imminent for US users the major carriers, Verizon, Sprint, AT&T and T-Mobile carry out their tests before rolling out.
That means sorting out any bugs and making sure the software is compatible. This will take a few days, with certification coming some time next week.
The announcement was made by HTC USA on its Twitter feed.
HTC hasn't got much time left to meet its promise of getting the update out in January.
Meanwhile, IBTimes UK is reporting that HTC One Mini users can finally enjoy the latest KitKat features on their devices after Android 4.4.2 CyanogenMod 11 custom ROM by XDA recognised developer h8rift was rolled out.
According to the website, the ROM "is the result of a new Kernel compiled with 4.8 toolchain, modified load address and some tweaked settings in ramdisk".
The website has this guide for HTC One Mini users wanting the update, although it's careful to remind readers that the update is for the Mini model only and users are advised to check their model number.
