HTC Bolt release date, specs: New HTC Desire model and HTC Bolt to have simultaneous launch?

HTC is said to be releasing a new Android Nougat-run device soon. Speculations suggest that the upcoming HTC Bolt will be a co-release, launching with a new HTC Desire iteration.

According to perennial tipster LlabTooFer, the HTC Bolt — known inside HTC as Acadia — will have a simultaneous launch with another upcoming HTC handset. The tech maker will reportedly debut another HTC Desire lineup addition, the A17.

While the new handset has been a surprise, speculations suggest that this new device is a follow-up to the Desire 530. The current Desire handset was first introduced in the 2016 Mobile World Congress and was code-named as Desire A16.

Being an entry-level handset, it is expected that the supposed Desire 530's follow-up will also have budget-friendly specs and features. The HTC Desire 530 was launched featuring a Snapdragon 210 chipset with 1.5 GB of RAM, as well as 16 GB of internal storage. The onboard storage is a surprise, as it is expandable for up to 256 GB via microSD card support.

The Desire 530 sports a 5.0-inch screen with 720p resolution. Other specs and features include an 8 MP main camera and 5 MP selfie shooter, Android 6.0 Marshmallow, and 2,000 mAh battery.

As for the HTC Bolt, it is said that the upcoming iteration will be a step-down version of the HTC 10 lineup. In fact, speculations suggest that the HTC Bolt will have a global launch, rebranded as the HTC 10 evo. Supposed specs and features include a Snapdragon 810 processor, paired with 3 GB of RAM and Android Nougat 7.0 platform, rated IP57 certification, a 4K video recording feature, and a 3,200 mAh battery. The device is said to come with its own adaptive earphones since the HTC Bolt has ditched the standard 3.5mm audio jack.

Rumors say that the HTC Bolt will be launched on Nov. 11, although it is unclear if it will indeed be a simultaneous debut with a new HTC Desire.
