HTC 10 evo release date, specs: HTC Bolt seen in latest press renders

It is already expected that HTC will be coming out with its own Android Nougat-run handset this year, although it is not yet clear when fans can expect the HTC Bolt. However, speculations suggest that the new iteration will come out soon, as new supposed press renders leak online.

According to TechnoBuffalo, supposed press images were leaked by a tipster, showing the upcoming HTC handset in black. This is a hint that the new iteration, dubbed as the HTC Bolt, will come in two color options. Previously, supposed press renders also showcased the device in white.

Although HTC has yet to come out with confirmed details about the new handset, development may be progressing smoothly, as it already has its own internal code — Acadia — inside HTC. Meanwhile, Phone Arena says that as per reports out of China, the new HTC Bolt may be announced sometime this month. However, the debut may only be exclusive to HTC's backyard, Taiwan.

The industry follower adds that even as a region-exclusive, the HTC Bolt is already expected to be offered by Sprint in the US market in the foreseeable future. There are also reports that the upcoming HTC device will have a global launch under the moniker HTC 10 evo. Should this prove to be true, then the new device will serve as a step-down variant of the current company flagship, the HTC 10.

The HTC Bolt made headlines since its supposed specs and features have already made their way online. If the specs list turns out to be on track, HTC will follow in Apple's footsteps, ditching the 3.5mm standard audio jack for the HTC Bolt. Meanwhile, the new device is also said to feature the last-gen flagship processor, Qualcomm's Snapdragon 810 chipset.

Other purported specs for the HTC Bolt/HTC 10 evo include a 5.5-inch display with either full HD or QHD resolution, at least 3 GB of RAM, and Android 7.0 Nougat right out of the box.
