HTC 10 evo release date, specs rumors 2016: HTC Bolt confirmed for global release

The HTC Bolt, which will reportedly be launched as a global release under the name HTC 10 evo. Sprint

The HTC Bolt is now available but as an exclusive for US-based carrier Sprint. However, speculations suggest that the new handset will be released in a global launch as the HTC 10 evo.

According to reports, HTC has applied for certification for a number of its devices in Russia. Interestingly, one of the lineups is the HTC 10 evo. This has been the rumored international brand for the Sprint-exclusive HTC Bolt. Should this prove true, then it is likely that the Bolt will indeed go outside of the US as a global release.

Meanwhile, aside from the HTC 10 evo, HTC has also applied for certification for new devices, including the One A9s, as well as the HTC Desire 650. Supposedly, the new Desire iteration is the mystery Desire A17 that has been leaked recently. In addition, the list also includes HTC X10, said to be the direct follow-up to last-year's X9.

Aside from the Russian certification, there may be other hints that spell out a global launch for the HTC Bolt. Perennial leaker LlabTooFer posted a teaser with the HTC Bolt being rebranded as the HTC 10 evo, and the image has its Sprint exclusive tag crossed out.

Since only its name will be changed, it is expected that the HTC 10 evo already has its specs and features confirmed. This means that the global release of the HTC Bolt will retain the same 5.5-inch display with QHD resolution, a Snapdragon 810 chipset, 3 GB of RAM, and a 3,200-mAh battery. The HTC Bol/HTC 10 evo is also the first HTC device to ditch the standard 3.5-mm audio jack, and will use its USB Type-C port as data, charging, and audio port.

As to when fans can expect the HTC 10 evo, it is said that the global release is likely to start before the year ends.
