'House of Cards' season 3: Michael Kelly hopeful that Doug Stamper is alive

"House of Cards" Season 3 is well on its way as filming location problems have been resolved. The third season will start production later this year.

According to Deadline, there was a negotiation done as the show and the Maryland legislators failed to reach a tax credit agreement for the "House of Cards." But now, everything has worked out and filming of the show will continue in Maryland, just like in Season 1 and 2.

The agreement was reached April 25 and filming will start late this year, so the new season of Netflix's top gunning show may air anytime next year. What's in store for fans in the third season of the award-winning show?

In season 2's last episode, Doug Stamper was hit on the head with a rock and fans are made to think that this may be the end of the line for Doug. So everyone is asking if he will be returning for the new season.

Michael Kelly, the actor who plays Doug Stamper, made a few revelations in a Huffington Post interview. He said that he is still unsure if his character will be making a return or not. He said "I don't know -- they haven't officially said. And with television contracts, as an actor, when you sign those contracts you sign for a long time. So technically they still own me, but I don't know yet."

He further adds that "I've tried a lot [to find out], are you kidding me? I wanna know! You go to the writers' room and there's black tarps over everything. You don't get to know anything," on desperately trying to know if his character will still be alive.

Kelly doesn't want his role in "House of Cards' to end yet, but he has prepared for the worse. "I have my fingers crossed. It's my best job I've ever had and the greatest people I've ever worked with. We can be hopeful but if not, it was an incredible job."
