The highly anticipated "Halo 5: Guardians" will arrive in stores next month, which is why Microsoft and game developer 343 Industries revealed the REQ system of the game.
The game developer previously listed the details regarding the use of REQ points in purchasing items like weapons, armors, and vehicles for "Halo 5" in the Halo Waypoint website. But to further explain the new feature of the game, Microsoft released a video using simpler terms.
For those who are not familiar with the REQ system in "Halo 5: Guardians," this is the online point that players can collect after completing a mission using a particular action or by doing something awesome in the game. But basically, players can still earn REQ points in every interaction that they encounter while playing the game in the multiplayer mode.
To simply explain what REQ means, the video tutorial, voiced by "Parks and Recreation" star Nick Offerman, says, "REQ is short for Requisitions, and it's how players are rewarded in 'Halo 5' multiplayer."
The blog post on Halo Waypoint says the REQ points can be used to redeem the REQ Packs that come with several REQ Cards representing unlockable weapons, vehicles, and armors, among others. The value of the REQ Cards differ in rarity and types. The REQ Cards include those for single use and with permanent items.
The REQ Packs comes in three variants, including:
- Gold REQ Pack – This comes with a large number of REQs, which vary from Uncommon to Legendary. It also contains two new permanent REQs, depending on availability during the redemption time.
- Silver REQ Pack – This features Uncommon to Rare REQs with two available permanent REQs.
- Bronze REQ Pack – This comes with Common, single-use REQs, but it can also unlock a new permanent REQ when available.
"Halo 5: Guardians," which streams at 60 fps, will be released on Oct. 27 in Xbox One for just $60.
