A lot of Marvel fans are eagerly awaiting what is in store for them in "Guardians of Galaxy 2", something that has so far been kept mum. But writer James Gunn may have tweeted a lead for fans and this has something to do with a Marvel superhero who will be introduced in the sequel.

Gunn spilled the beans while answering fan questions via Twitter, dropping an interesting tweet that now has the MCU thinking. However, for fans who have been following Marvel, that character could be anyone. And based on their roster, they do have a lot.

Initially, the character was believed to be Nova, or Richard Rider who was best known as an Earth-born hero who was enlisted to succeed Rhomann Dey in the Nova Corps. However, Gunn immediately backtracked in another tweet.

Other potential characters who could be the one Gunn is referring to include Howard the Duck, Cosmo or probably even Adam Warlock.

But the clues may have been whittled down when Gunn did mention before through Collider that he was hoping to include a feminine hero. So if you are familiar with some Marvel heroes associated with "Guardians of the Galaxy," then one of them could probably be it. Captain Marvel perhaps? How about Moondragon who is the daughter of Drax?

Besides, with Gunn saying that the next film will somehow be based on the comic series. Some believe that such would be risky though it remains to be seen how it all turns out.

Guardians of the Galaxy 2 is scheduled to be shown on May 17, 2015, still a long way off.
