GoPro Hero 5 release date rumors: highly anticipated action camera to release with the Karma drone?

GoPro fans have been hungry for the release of its newest action camera for a long time now. The big day when the device is all set to release is finally out, although unofficially. Rumours suggest that around Christmas this year, the GoPro Hero 5 will make it to the showrooms.

Also, it seems like the camera's release will be accompanied by the debut of the GoPro Karma Drone. Initially, the Drone was slated for release before the Hero 5. However, as Game & Guide recounts, GoPro CEO Nicholas Woodman said way back in the company's first quarterly report in May, "While we had to make the difficult decision to delay our drone, Karma, the upside is that Karma's launch should now benefit from the holidays."

This statement has fueled the rumours about the drone and the camera being released as a bundle. Value Walk gives an account of Nick Woodman's interview with The Verge, where he admitted that the company's revenue was not impressive enough in 2015.

However, the company's founder is confident of turning things around for the better, with a plan to release three devices before this year draws to a close. GoPro enthusiasts believe that the Hero 5 will be one among these three promised gadgets. Still, without any official statement from Woodman, the piece of news continues to remain mere speculation.

The new camera is said to possess superior features, making it a hundred times better than its earlier versions, as Yibada observes. Although the official specs have not been revealed, speculations claim that the new device possesses a Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, which is bound to increase the speed of the camera. The GoPro Hero 5 is also likely to have enhanced resolution, which could enable it to record up to 4K at 60 frames per second and up to 8K at 30 frames per second.
