Google Pixel, Pixel XL release date, specs: render surfaces, flagship to launch soon?

It seems that Google plans to launch the new Pixel lineup soon as supposed unofficial renders leak online recently.

The new press renders showcase the front panel of both flagships, the Google Pixel and the larger Pixel XL. According to Phone Arena, the supposed images are from a parts dealer in Hong Kong, and the images came with supposed dimensions for the panels. Bezels aside, the screen for the base model Google Pixel stands at 4.99 inches, while the larger Pixel XL has a 5.46-inch display. Should the new flagships ship out with the dimensions, it will confirm previous rumors on the displays for the new iterations, with the Google Pixel having an over-all 5.0-inch display dimension, while the Pixel XL has s 5.5-inch screen.

The renders also highlighted the back panel for both devices. One noted feature on the back is the fingerprint scanner underneath the main camera. In addition, the panel showcases a two-tone finish, although it is unclear if it is just a prototype or a consumer edition already.

With the supposed renders already out online, speculations suggest that the launch for the new flagships is imminent. Previous rumors have placed the debut of the Google Pixel and Pixel XL by next month. It seems likely, given that the full version of Android Nougat is also said to start rolling out by October. Google flagships serve as launching devices for new versions of the Android platform.

Meanwhile, although Google has yet to come out with confirmed details on the two iterations, supposed specs and features of the flagships have already made their way online. According to rumors, the Google Pixel and Pixel XL will come out with a step-up Snapdragon 821 processor, paired with at least 4 GB of RAM. It is also rumored that the new flagships will be released with Android Nougat 7.1 already onboard.
