The latest version of the Nexus 5 appears minty fresh, based on the recent photos leaked online.

Two new leaked photographs of the alleged 2015 edition of Google's Nexus 5 smartphone have been posted on Korean blogsite underKG. While the images do not reveal any new information about the upcoming device, they show that a variant of the new edition of the LG-manufactured smartphone could come in an interesting new color — mint green.

Previous leaked photos of the Nexus 5 smartphone, also referred to as the Nexus 5X, only showed that the device in black and white casing. It means that this is the first time that the new Google smartphone is seen in a third color.

Cam Bunton, the editor of 9to5Google and 9to5Mac, posted the same photo in his Twitter account. However, in Bunton's post, the image was color corrected, showing that the mint green color of the Nexus 5 in the first photo was only a result of incorrect lighting.

Other rumors about the soon-to-be released 2015 version of the Nexus 5 claim that it will come with a 5.2-inch, 1920 x 1080 pixel P-OLED HD or Quad-HD display, an octa-core Snapdragon 620 processor with 3 GB to 4 GB of RAM, 32 GB and 64 GB internal storage options, a 13 MP F1.8 rear camera with OIS and Laser Autofocus, a 4 MP front camera, and a 3180 mAh battery that has a wireless charging capability.

Other reports claim that the new Nexus 5 will have a rear power button with a built-in fingerprint scanner, a set of dual front-facing speakers, the new USB Type-C connector with Quick Charging Technology, and an aluminum frame with black-colored matte plastic back.

However, Google has not released any statement regarding the next-generation Nexus 5 smartphone. Rumors are expected to be addressed in the Google event happening on Sept. 29.
