Although Google has yet to confirm its upcoming flagships, fans already expect new Nexus iterations soon, evidenced by leaks making their rounds online. The most recent is sighting of the HTC-made S1 with specs listed.

According to the supposed list on benchmark site GFX Bench, one of the two new Google Nexus flagships, codenamed "Sailfish," is confirmed to feature the latest Snapdragon 820 processor, as well as 4GB RAM. Meanwhile, it is also revealed that the previous rumors of the HTC Sailfish being the more compact of the two flagships are spot on, as the list confirms a 5.0-inch display. The other iteration dubbed as the M1, or HTC-made "Marlin," is said to carry a 5.5-inch screen. However, other observers are saying that there will only be a slight gap between the two, since the HTC S1 will reportedly carry a 5.2-inch full HD display, though the M1 Marlin will still come out on top with Quad HD resolution.

For the S1 Sailfish, the display is listed to have full HD resolution, encased in an all-metal chassis and unibody frame. It is unclear if the new Google Nexus 2016 flagships from HTC will have IP6X rating, though.

Meanwhile, as for its features, fans can expect top-tier details like a fingerprint scanner at the back, NFC, and Android Nougat right out of the box. In addition, the camera setup will also reportedly be overhauled. The HTC S1 will purportedly feature a 12MP main shooter on the back, capable of 4K recording, while the front snapper is an above-average 7MP camera. Other supposed features include USB Type-C, and a 2,770 mAh non-removable battery.

As to when can fans expect the new 2016 flagships, rumors suggest an October debut for the new Google Nexus series. Although the two iterations are said to be launching vehicles for the new Android Nougat platform, the spot for being the first flagship to have the platform come out of the box is already taken by the LG V20, which will supposedly launch next month.
