The defending National Basketball Association (NBA) champions, the Golden State Warriors, are going to have a huge boost in their coaching staff as reports say former Most Valuable Player (MVP) and retired point guard Steve Nash is close to being a part-time consultant for the team.

Warriors head coach Steve Kerr last season led the Dubs to the championship to end a 40-year title drought despite being a rookie coach.

Kerr was cited for his excellent coaching but also for building an efficient group of assistant coaches, although Alvin Gentry left to be the New Orleans Pelicans head coach.

Now, it seems like Kerr will be joined by Nash, who already worked with the Warriors head coach when he was still playing for the Phoenix Suns.

Along with Kerr, Nash, in his time with the Suns, also had the chance to work with Warriors player development coach Bruce Fraser and team president Rick Welts, according to ESPN.

ESPN added that Kerr, Fraser, and Welts are some of Nash's closest friends in the NBA and they convinced him to join them as a consultant.

Nash's job for the Warriors will likely be mentoring young and talented guards, including 2015 MVP Stephen Curry.

In his recent post on Instagram, Curry shared a photo of a younger version of him and Nash, who was then playing for the Suns.

Curry had this humorous caption for the photo, "Finally we get a decent coach around here.."

Mentoring guards is not new for Nash who recently was helping Los Angeles Lakers guard Jordan Clarkson with his game.

Nash last played for the Lakers before retiring; but since injuries plagued him in his final years, he mentored Clarkson who was one of the few bright spots for the franchise last season.

Before leaving the NBA, Nash was the league MVP twice (2005, 2006) and was an eight-time All-Star.

The carol assures us that “We three kings of Orient are…” and tells us they were “following yonder star”. Can we be sure there were three of them? Were they kings? Where in the Orient were they from? What was the star they followed? In fact, there is a lot that we just do not know. This is the story …
