Gamenguide believes that since Cawthon already revealed that the upcoming "Sister Location" title will not be a direct sequel to the previous games in the "Five Nights at Freddy's" franchise, the upcoming title will offer a different feel and gameplay. Reportedly, the new game may even deviate from the signature horror/sci-fi design, though it is still expected to come out with the same animatronics and robotics characters already associated with the series.
While it remains unconfirmed, it is already certain that "Sister Location" will have a whole new story, though it remains under the franchise. New characters in the game include Baby, Ballora, Funtime Freddy, and Funtime Foxy. However, there are hints some old characters from the franchise may also get screen-time in the new game.
As to when fans can expect "Sister Location," Scott Cawthon has yet to come out with a specific release date. However, some observers are saying that the new game may release sometime between September and October. While it remains unsubstantiated, the game is expected to come out soon since many teasers and hints have already made their rounds online.
However, while Cawthon has been known to surprise fans with releasing his titles much earlier than the expected release schedule, it is expected that he will stick to the release roadmap for "Sister Location" this time around. The last release from the developer also rolled out earlier than its schedule. However, Cawthon has to pull out "Five Nights at Freddy's World" after about a week since its early release, as feedbacks said that the game feels incomplete.
