Speculations suggest that the remastered "Final Fantasy 7" game may hit the shelves before 2016 ends, although there is no confirmation from publisher Square Enix yet.

The upcoming game already has a release date on popular online retailer website Amazon. The listing placed the game to start shipping out on Dec. 30. However, since publisher Square Enix has yet to confirm the specific release date for "Final Fantasy 7," the listing date remains hearsay. Meanwhile, even with an unconfirmed release date, Amazon has already opened pre-orders for the upcoming RPG.

Although Amazon has already laid out a roll out date for "Final Fantasy 7," observers are saying that the online retail giant is just following steps for upcoming release dates, and that the December 30, 2016 tag is just a placeholder. This is more likely, since most retailers usually place end-year dates when some games and titles have yet to receive specific roll out schedules.

Meanwhile, while fans are waiting for the specific release date for "Final Fantasy 7," it is said that Square Enix is readying a big info dump about the upcoming remake. In a prior interview, game director Tetsuya Nomura teased that Square Enix has a massive announcement planned soon. The game director stated, "At the next information releases, which will be this coming August at the KH concert and the Dissidia Final Fantasy tournament, I plan to start bringing more to light little by little, so I thank you in advance for your continued support."

Though the tease may be for the "Kingdom Hearts" series, observers say that this is also a hint for the upcoming "Final Fantasy 7" remake, and that new details may come out during a "Final Fantasy" event, the launch of "Final Fantasy XV" on September 30. Square Enix may even come out with a specific release date by then.
