After surviving the harrowing zombie run-down in the ranch, Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey) will decide to separate herself from the group and travel on her own in the latest episode of "Fear the Walking Dead" season 3.

In an interview with ComicBook.com, showrunner Dave Erickson talked about Alicia's decision to strike out on her own by going to the Pacific Northwest on the next episode of "Fear the Walking Dead."

"It absolutely was a worthwhile story to explore. I think the notion, and I think we speak to it, is that it is quite a long trip," he said.

While on her solo journey, Alicia will encounter another female survivor like her.

The synopsis for season 3 episode 14 of the AMC series, titled "El Matadero," suggests that the lone female survivor that Alicia meets could be a future ally. The teaser for the upcoming episode also shows that their initial encounter does not happen on friendly terms.

The teaser trailer, which lasts for one minute, features Alicia as she stops at a town center to look and scavenge for supplies. While in the parking lot, Alicia spots a car filled with a lot of stuff. As she tries to pry open the vehicle to steal one of the bags, a mystery woman appears and calls her out. The woman threatens to crack Alicia's skull if she touches the woman's possessions. Alicia responds by pointing a rifle at the unknown woman.

Elsewhere in the episode, Ofelia, played by Mercedes Mason, will fight to survive the horde of zombies. It's still not clear why Ofelia is trying to survive but the trailer for the next episode foreshadows that something bad might happen to her.

While it seems that she is in mortal peril, executive producer Dave Erickson assured fans that there will be a happy reunion for Ofelia and Daniel, played Ruben Blades.

"Fear the Walking Dead" season 3 airs Sundays at 9 p.m. EDT on AMC.
