'Fallout 4' PS4 mods release date news: 'Nuka-World' roll-out nearing but PS4 mod support still up in the air

A roll-out date for full mod support in the PS4 version of "Fallout 4" is still up in the air as another update preparing players for "Nuka-World" DLC is waiting for release.

Just recently, developer Bethesda announced that the PS4 mods support is still "under evaluation," as the studio continues its talks with Sony over the feature. Bethesda tweeted, "We're working w/ Sony on Fallout 4 Mod support for PS4. The process is still under evaluation. As soon as we learn more, we will share news."

The delay for the full mods feature on the PS4 is on Sony's end, though. Reportedly, the PlayStation only limits up to 900 MB of ported date for its titles. This is a far cry from the Xbox One and PC platforms, where the full mods feature of "Fallout 4" already runs for up to 2 GB of data. With the heavy details and information on modding files, the 900-MB limit for the Sony console is indeed an issue.

Meanwhile, as players continue to wait for updates on the PS4 modding feature, another patch is rolling out for all versions of "Fallout 4," supposedly to prepare for the upcoming expansion content. Patch 1.7 is already live on PC, with the Xbox One and PS4 consoles soon to receive the update.

The new update tweaks improvements for "Fallout 4" gameplay and interface, as well as prepares the game for the upcoming major DLC, "Nuka-World." Aside from the tweaks, patch 1.7 also brings hot fixes to known game issues, and improves on mods glitches for the PC (and Xbox One when it rolls out). Although Bethesda has yet to peg a specific release date for "Nuka-World," it is expected that the DLC is coming out soon since its pre-launch update, patch 1.7, is already being released.
