Bethesda has linked its upcoming "Fallout 4" DLC to the "Fallout Shelter" title as "Nuka-World" content lands in the mobile game in the latest update.

The new patch, Update 1.7, has gone live for iOS and Android players of "Fallout Shelter." Aside from bringing tweaks and improvements to the mobile game, the new update also unlocks new in-game content, such as the mascots from the upcoming "Nuka-World" DLC from its main franchise game, "Fallout 4."

Starting with the new patch, "Fallout Shelter" players will be able to enter into the very first game "Special Event" quest, accessible through the Overseer's Office, which celebrates the new main franchise expansion. The new "Special Event" mission is themed around the upcoming "Nuka-World" DLC. Players who finished the special mission will unlock the two DLC mascots, Bottle and Cappy, as additional characters for the Vault. The two mascots will then serve as special NPCs for "Fallout Shelter," as their visit will reward players with Caps and Nuka Cola Quantum items.

Meanwhile, aside from "Nuka-World" DLC content, the new update 1.7 also unlocks more missions for "Fallout Shelter" players. The new missions can be unlocked via the Overseer's Office, and will again make the dwellers explore the Wastelands and add features to the Vault. In addition, the new update also adds more special and weekly events other than the "Nuka-World"-themed mission.

"Fallout Shelter" is Bethesda's first mobile game for the franchise, and rolled out as a linked game before "Fallout 4." Meanwhile, the franchise's current main game will receive its final season DLC, "Nuka-World," as it rolls out this week. The new expansion content is scheduled to go live on today in North America and Aug. 30 in other regions, including Europe. The new DLC is available for Season Pass holders, and will also go live as a stand-alone expansion purchase for $19.99.
