'Fallout 4' PS4 mods release date coming soon; Update 1.6 rolls out across all platforms

Fallout 4 Nuka-World DLC is scheduled to arrive by August. Bethesda

"Fallout 4" PlayStation 4 console fans waiting for the mod update will have to wait a little longer. The update is not arriving yet, but another update was rolled out just recently. Fans are speculating that the latest update is bringing in extra fixes for the mod update, rumored to arrive soon.

It was previously reported that the delay for the mod update on the PlayStation 4 is connected to some technical issues on the console itself. The PlayStation 4 only allows up to 900MB of ported data to run, while the Xbox One allows up to 2GB of them. Bethesda, the game developer, is still trying to work around the obstacle.

However, the mod update is speculated to roll out between the arrival of the 'Vault-Tec Workshop" and "Nuka-World" DLC packs, which will be released later this month and next month.

Meanwhile, Update 1.6 was released on all platforms just the other day and contains general stability and performance enhancements. Several crash issues were given fixes. These issues include targeting enemy weapons while in VATS, Companion getting stuck walking, and players getting stuck in elevators in the Mass Fusion Building during "Mankind Redefined," Bethesda announced on its page.

Other fixes are for the "Boston After Dark" quest, invisibility issue, deleting saved games issue, game becoming unstable when unofficial mods are activated and a few more.

It also added new features, which include:

  • ExitSave - Exiting to the Main Menu or Desktop (PC only) will create an ExitSave. During next play session, the ExitSave will delete itself after you load it. The Exitsave works on all difficulty levels, including Survival.
  • New Add On specific icons in Workshop mode
  • More than 300 new player names added to Codsworth's vocabulary
  • Support for upcoming Add Ons

"Fallout 4's" next DLC is "Vault-Tec Workshop," which will arrive on July 26 while "Nuka-World," the final downloadable content, will be available by August.
