Duggar family news: Jill breaks family dress code during date night with husband Derick

Ever since she got married, Jill Duggar from "Counting On" has been breaking a lot of her family's conservative dress codes. She started wearing pants, got a nose ring, then even had a Henna tattoo.

Jill has received tons of support for her new fashion choices, and just recently, she broke another one of her family's rules - never wear any dress above the knee. Jill wore this dress during her date night with hubby, Derick Dillard, as they celebrated his birthday.

The two enjoyed a quiet evening at their favorite restaurant, the MarketPlace Grill, and capped off the night with their go-to dessert - the beloved Chocolate Mess. Dillard was so happy with how the evening went that he posted two photos on Instagram (@derickmdillard).

In the first photo, he and Jill flashed huge smiles with the dessert in front of them. "Yumm... #marketplace chocolate messes are the best birthday treat!" he captioned the photo. In the next photo, the two appeared to be at home. Dillard had his arm around his wife, who was wearing a long-sleeved dress that is cut slightly above the knee. "Thanks @jillmdillard for a wonderful evening, to complete a fun day together! Every day just keeps getting better with you. I love you baby!" he wrote.

Once again, Jill received praises for her outfit. "Love that dress and shoes! It's about time you take your life and do what you want!" a fan wrote. Another commented, "It's about free will. They should wear what they want."

Because there were some people who pointed out how wrong it was for Jill to let go of her modest upbringing, a lot of avid "Counting On" fans were quick to defend her. "I believe she did remain modest. She's simply learning new and more modern styles. She's learning it's not sinful to enjoy looking feminine," a netizen wrote.

"Her dress is barely even above the knees! If you think this is 'too short and more worldly' then you obviously haven't seen some stuff people are wearing," another weighed in. "This is far from inappropriate and nothing is wrong with them changing the way they dress. They are old enough to make those choices for themselves."
