'Dragon Ball Xenoverse' release date: Trailer shows 3-minute gameplay footage

After the Tokyo Game Show 2014, the "Dragon Ball Xenoverse" trailer was released. The newest game from Bandai Namco is something fans of "Dragon Ball" are eagerly waiting for. The trailer is a delightful treat as it shows  three minutes of gameplay footage of the game.

"Dragon Ball Xenoverse" will debut on 2015, and the trailer shows the time-travelling part of the new story mode for the game. Further, the trailer also features the backstory of one of the fighters. But the best part of it all is, the gameplay footage that hasn't been shown in any other trailer before.

The new trailer explains that the players will have to create their hero, who will be summoned by Trunks. Shenron the dragon will be the one to summon the heroes and make sure that there is no evil that will ruin the timeline.

The player's hero will battle it out with familiar characters from the anime series. Player heroes will be in 3-vs-3 matches, one creation versus another. In line with new battles, there's also a free-for-all battle mode. More than this, there is also a co-op play for gamers, where a group of players can go on adventures.

According to iDigitalTimes, they tried to talk to Bandai Namco about the cooperative play so the developer can give more information about it. However, there's still no confirmed details about this game feature.

Nevertheless, Bandai Namco announced that there will be a network test for "Dragon Ball Xenoverse." According to the company, they will allow some lucky PS3 owners in the U.S. to try out the game.

The network test will start on Oct. 4 and will end on Oct. 5. There will be 20,000 players who will be able to join in the network testing. The official blog of Bandai Namco says:

On Oct 3rd, we will share a download code on the Dragon Ball Z Games Facebook Page that is redeemable via the PlayStation Store for the first 20,000 players who enter it. After 9:00 AM PDT on Oct 3rd, players can start downloading the client. After 5:00 AM PDT on Oct 4th, players can begin playing."
