With the new sequel coming out next month, developer Arkane Studios has come out with new details about "Dishonored 2." A new highlight video has gone live, detailing main character Emily Kaldwin.

In the new footage, it can be seen that the Empress has indeed grown up. Emily was introduced in the original "Dishonored," although only as one of the central characters to main protagonist Corvo Attano. However, "Dishonored 2" has tweaked the gameplay and design. In the sequel, Emily takes the center stage as one of the main protagonists. "Dishonored 2" features the same story but told from different perspectives. Aside from Emily, the sequel also showcases Corvo's return as the main character.

The footage showcases Emily's unique skills and powers as the Empress. Combat is a combination of stealth, head-on fights, and powers. In the story, Emily has spent much of her time training under her father, Corvo. However, there are nuances to her powers that point to her lineage, like linking people together or even persuading and distracting enemies

Meanwhile, aside from highlighting some demo gameplay for the character, the video also sheds a spotlight on the creative team's decision to make Emily a playable character this time around. Creative director Harvey Smith states that the sequel also serves as coming-of-age for the young protagonist.

"One of the underlying themes of the game is that Emily, as Empress, is used to depending on a lot of other people to get what she needs," the creative director narrates. "And in this situation, she's really only got herself to depend on. And then on top of that, because she is a former Empress—an Empress on the run—people react very differently when they see her than they do to Corvo," he added.

"Dishonored 2" is scheduled to be released on Nov. 11 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
