Servers for the online multiplayer video game "Destiny 2" will temporarily go offline next week to make way for maintenance updates. Hotfix 1.1.1.3 will be executed to allow all players to be part of the Faction Rallies content despite not having purchased the "Curse of Osiris" DLC pack.

Bungie said the Hotfix is necessary and will be completed after four hours. "In preparation for the return of Faction Rallies, Hotfix 1.1.1.3 will be deployed on Tuesday, January 16 2018, to fully remove Curse of Osiris requirements from Seasonal Content." The Hotfix will be deployed at exactly 8 a.m. PST and will finish at 12 p.m. PST. Players will then not be allowed to enter any server until the Hotfix is complete.

The video game company also prepared a guide for players who will encounter errors or issues with their PC or console not accepting the Hotfix.

The maintenance job is not the only thing coming for the first-person shooter video game. "Destiny 2's" game director Christopher Barrett gave out information about the most-anticipated updates for the sci-fi-themed video game. Barrett, through a blog post, revealed that on Jan. 30 an update for the expansion of the Masterwork system that will include an armor that will go live. An improved Raid Reward Rework will also be made available with the update.

In February, a new update will bring additional strike scoring and high score tracking, the Mods 2.0, Quickplay Improvements, PC Tower Chat, Exotic Repetition Reduction, and Fireteam Members on Destination Map. There will also be spring and fall updates according to the director. The future patches will bring new content for the Crucible, private matches, new events, and more.

These information are not the only good news this week. The mysterious merchant of "Destiny 2," Xur, is back. Xur will be available until Jan. 15 and he can be found north of the Winding Cove on the Earth landing zone. The vendor sells efficient items so make sure to bring legendary shards.
