In the next episode of "Designated Survivor," President Tom Kirkman (Kiefer Sutherland) races against time to stop a deadly viral pandemic.
The trailer for the upcoming installment titled "Outbreak" was just released recently and showed Kirkman in the control room with his staff members including Aaron Shore (Adan Canto) and Emily Rhodes (Italia Ricci). They look at the screen monitors which showed updates about the virus. Kirkman asked them, "How fast will the superbug spread?" An analyst replied that it will probably take 36 hours when things will go from bad to worse.
They only have hours and more people appear to be getting hospitalized. It remains to be seen how the deadly virus started and how Kirkman and the team will be able to stop it from spreading.
Meanwhile, FBI agent Hannah Wells (Maggie Q) and MI6 operative Damian Rennett (Ben Lawson) appear to be on a mission and searching a factory. They stumble upon some evidence that may change the lives of Kirkman's family forever.
In the previous episode, Kirkman and his team were able to stop the disturbed killer Patrick Lloyd (Terry Serpico) from spreading sarin gas in Washington D.C. and the surrounding areas. Wells was able to determine the location of Lloyd who was spotted at the car he abandoned. Wells and Rennett chased him to his underground bunker where he locked himself.
Lloyd then issued a warning to the White House and said that he would release sarin gas if his demands were not met. Kirkman, however, decided to bomb Lloyd's area using a drone strike. The enemy target was obliterated and the U.S. capitol was saved once more.
It remains to seen though if Lloyd was found dead in the bomb wreckage.
"Designated Survivor" season 2 episode 3 will air on Wednesday, Oct. 11 at 10 p.m. EDT on ABC.
