BAU officially goes back to work as "Criminal Minds" season 11 premieres. Agent Kate Callahan will no longer be around, but there will be a new face to acquaint with at the office, with Aisha Tyler debuting as Dr. Tara Lewis in the season opener titled "The Job."

Lewis is a forensic psychologist whose dream is to study psychopathic criminals "up close and personal." She will be tasked to interview them to know if they are fit for trial, and this will be the exact thing she will do when is introduced in the "Criminal Minds" season 11 premiere.

"In the process, she made herself find the humanity inside these broken men (and, sometimes, women) in order to learn if there was a conscience behind their brutal crimes," the description of the character, as picked up by Entertainment Weekly, reads.

Lewis will virtually replace Kate, played by Jennifer Love-Hewitt, who skipped the show to be a full-time mom of two. Hotch will be the one to invite the forensic psychologist on the team after she impresses him in an interview, which he conducted to find someone that can fill the void left by Callahan. Lewis was the best among the candidates who aspired for the position.

Tyler's character, described in the "Criminal Minds" season 11 premiere synopsis as an "impressive potential new team member," will help out BAU in finding a serial killer, whose disturbing and "distinctive" manner of killing and leaving his victims falls right into her line of work.

It remains to be seen how frequent Lewis will show up in "Criminal Minds" season 11. But with Love-Hewitt out and AJ Cook absent during the first five episodes of the season for her maternity leave, the show could use a character as interesting as Tyler's.

"Criminal Minds" season 11 premiere "The Job" airs Sept. 30.
