Cleveland Cavaliers rumors: LeBron James not keen on Kyrie Irving, Iman Shumpert return

For LeBron James, the problem with the Cavs is from within. Unless they find out what ails the team as far as consistency is concerned, the team will continue to falter.

He believes that even if the players on the mend like Kyrie Irving and Iman Shumpert return, the team's fortunes will hardly change per his interview with CBS Sports. James sees a team no different from the last National Basketball Association (NBA) Finals, totally reliant on him which was proven when the Cavs played the New Orleans Pelicans and lost in overtime (118–104), several games ago.

Head coach David Blatt practically admits that James needs help on the floor, seeing that it took a scoring splurge from the star player in the fourth quarter to get the team back in the game.

Apparently, the problem for the Cavs right now is also closing games. With James helping the team come back in that game, the energy seemed to be lacking to finish off the lowly Pelicans.

Moving forward, Kyrie Irving and Iman Shumpert could be returning soon from injury, but James does not believe that the return of the two would make a difference.

Even though the return of the two guards could be a big boost to the lineup, James believes that they should not be seen as the escape clause of the team as it continues to show signs of inconsistency.

The Cavs are expected to come out with something better than last season, seeing the chemistry problem resolved with most of the players from last season on board.

James has been frustrated lately by the team's lack of effort and the same issue persists. At the rate the Cavs are going, their goal of finally getting an NBA title could be in jeopardy unless they get their act together soon.

Worse, it could come to a point they finish worse than last season, which will surely not make James and team owner Dan Gilbert happy.
