Publisher Activision has officially revealed key details about its next game, "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare."

According to the publisher's announcement, "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare" will be released on Nov. 4 for the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC. The new installment from developer Infinity Ward takes on a whole new meaning for the "Call of Duty" franchise, as it engages on another level – space combat. In "Infinite Warfare," players will get to check out space-age weapons and gears, as well as pilot high-speed space fighters.

Activision CEO Eric Hirshberg calls the next campaign as the series taking on "incredible new heights." Hirshberg stated, "Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is a bold, new vision from the studio that created the original Call of Duty and Modern Warfare, and an adventure on an insanely epic scale that only Call of Duty could deliver."

Although the game features space-age gameplay, Infinity Ward says that the title retains as many real-world applications as possible. Design director Jacob Minkoff said to GameSpot,

"The inspirations come from war stories. This is Call of Duty. We are talking about warfare and in this case Infinite Warfare... what we feel is that classically told narratives can take place in any setting."

Meanwhile, the gameplay itself is still shrouded in mystery, although Activision confirms that in "Infinite Warfare," players take on the role of Captain Reyes, a Special Operations pilot. In addition, there will be a number of special editions for the game. Aside from the regular, off-the-shelf game, there will be special bundles.

One is the "Legacy Edition," both available for physical and digital copies of the new game. It contains both the "Infinite Warfare" installment, and for those who are hardcore fans, a chance to go back and play a much-improved title. The "Legacy Edition" includes a copy of "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered."

There is also a Season Pass included in the "Digital Deluxe Edition" and the "Legacy Pro Edition," hinting at expansion content for the upcoming installment.
