It is confirmed that the next expansion for "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" goes live on Set. 6 for the PS4.

In a press release, publisher Activision has revealed that the fourth DLC for "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" will land on the PlayStation 4 on September 6. In addition, it is confirmed that the PS4 launch is a timed exclusive, with the expansion content, "Salvation," rolling out to other platforms following the Sony console release.

One of the noted content for the upcoming "DLC 4" pack is the final chapter in "Origins Zombie" storyline for "Black Ops 3." Dubbed as "Revelations," the new episode continues and culminates with the main characters fighting zombie hordes. "At this point it goes without saying, that Zombies has been a true labor of love for the studio, and I'm proud to say that this will be a defining and epic experience for the fans who have joined us over the last 8 years," commented Mark Lamia, Studio Head of Treyarch, the developer for "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3."

Aside from the new "Revelations" chapter, the fourth DLC also adds new content to the main game. The multiplayer mode will get four new maps. Two of the new locations include Citadel, an abandoned classic castle; and Micro, a miniaturized picnic table. The other two maps are remastered versions of classic areas from previous franchise games. Outlaw is a western-themed map taken from the Standoff location from "Call of Duty: Black Ops 2;" while Rupture is a re-imagined futuristic map from the classic Outskirts area from "Call of Duty: World at War."

The new "Salvation" DLC will have a staggered release for all platforms, going out as a timed exclusive for the PlayStation 4 on Sept. 6. Activision has yet to come out with specific rollout dates for the Xbox One and PC. Meanwhile, as with other Season Pass content, the new DLC is not available for the previous-gen PS3 and Xbox 360.
