"Boruto: Naruto the Movie" will officially be launched in select U.S. theaters this Oct. 10. Viz Media and Eleven Arts have also launched a subtitled trailer for the film online. A full list of theaters where the film will be shown as well as dates and show times are listed on Crunchyroll

Although the movie is still more than a month away from launch, tickets are now available online for pre-orders. While there were prizes for the first few pre-order purchases when the movie was shown in Japan, there is no official announcement yet if there will be pre-order prizes for U.S. purchases as well.

"Boruto: Naruto the Movie" debuted in Japan last Aug. 7 and earned a total of 680 million yen ($5.46 million) in its first three days in theaters, making it the highest selling "Naruto" film to date. According to a report from Anime New Network, this film outsold the previous movie "The Last: Naruto the Movie" by over 115.1 percent.

The film serves as an epilogue to the "Naruto" franchise as it focuses its attention on Boruto and Sarada, the children of Naruto and Sasuke, respectively. Boruto is shown to have great potential but despises his father, who is now the Seventh Hokage, and instead becomes an apprentice to Naruto's friend and rival, Sasuke.

Mitsuki, a newcomer to the series, is also introduced in the film, although fans already saw the character in the "Naruto Gaiden" manga series. Mitsuki's origins are a mystery, although there are speculations that the ninja may be related to Orochimaru.

The film's synopsis reads as follows:

Sasuke who's been on a mission in another dimension appears before Naruto to warn of a strange impending danger he has sensed. Shrouded with an evil aura, Momoshiki and Kinshiki appear during the Exams and attempt to assassinate Naruto with the Rinnegan. Boruto is petrified and unable to do a thing while Sasuke guards him. As Naruto steps in front to shield them, he smiles faintly and disappears in front of Boruto.

"An inconceivable foe lies in wait as Sasuke, the Five Kage and Boruto with a determination of steel, charge into another dimension!"
