'Batman vs Superman' movie news: Ben Affleck says script is 'really smart'

With everyone so excited about "Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice," it just can't be helped to be eager about knowing more news about the highly anticipated film. What we know so far is that the film has started shooting back in May and we've seen Ben Afflect dress up as Bruce Wayne. But when will we see him in a Batman costume?

Not yet. According to Movie Pilot, Batman scenes are being shot already, but it's during the night time. The cast and crew are at Nicholson Terminal & Dock Corporation shooting. However, it's particularly hard to get good photos of Batman on the scene since it's a private property.

Movie Pilot reports that a source claimed: "There is filming taking place on a seaside port at night. It seems as if The Batmobile has and will be involved. A chase scene has been filmed that included a lot of stunts. A Batman stunt double was used to film a scene that had Batman standing on the top of a 40+ story crane. Most of this shooting has been stunt double heavy."

Detroit is indeed the major shooting location for the film, for now at least. According to Metro sources, aside from Nicholson Terminal, filming will also take place at the Marathon Oil Refinery and other parts of Metro Detroit. Nonetheless, these are all the information we can get to the shooting locations right now.

The Metro source added "there will be no one available to talk about the film until closer to the release." But Metro reports that most of the film effects for the movie will be done by Michigan Motion Picture Studios.

Meanwhile, Affleck shares an insight about "Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice" to The New York Times. He was interviewed September 3 and said that he is "having a blast" working on the film.

Affleck is a fan of Chris Terrio, the scriptwriter as Terrio is also the one who wrote "Argo," where Affleck produced the Oscar-winning film. "[It's] really unique to the genre and really smart," says Affleck.

"Batman vs Superman: Dawn of Justice" will hit theaters on March 25, 2016. It has a budget of $131 million and is the most expensive movie to be filmed in Detroit to date.
