WB Games has already confirmed the delay of its remastered bundle "Batman: Return to Arkham." Originally thought to be released in mid-2016, the game is now rumored to come out by either September or October at the latest.
According to Gamenguide, some industry followers are saying that although WB Games has yet to peg a new release date for the upcoming compendium, "Batman: Return to Arkham" may still make a 2016 roll out. Reportedly, the game may come out September at the earliest, or may have an October release date.
The bundle package game is a recent announcement from WB Games, and has an original release date listed on July 26 for the PS4 and Xbox One. The new compendium bundles remastered versions of "Batman: Arkham Asylum" and "Batman: Arkham City" released in 2009 and 2011. The two new remastered versions are now done in Unreal Engine 4, and has a price tag of $49.99.
Close to its July 26 release date, publisher WB Games announced on its forums that the new editions suffered a delay, and now has been scheduled for an "indefinite release." WB Games stated, "After reviewing the progress of the project, the team at WB Games has decided to delay the release of Batman: Return to Arkham to give the team at Virtuos Games additional time to deliver a polished Batman Arkham game experience. We do not have a release date yet and will be sure to communicate that once we are sure the game will be ready."
The delay may have been the result of previous setbacks with the "Batman: Arkham" series. The recent game in the franchise, "Batman: Arkham Knight," suffered glitches and in-game issues – particularly the PC version – and WB Games had to pull title off the market for some time just days after it rolled out last year.
