"Attack on Titan" fans can now finally relax a little for it has been confirmed that the second season will start airing in early 2017. Now, it is said that the upcoming season will show the corrupt side of the king, which will end in rebellion. The uprising will be led by non-other than Captain Erwin Smith.

Movie Pilot stated that Capt. Smith will discover that it is not actually the corrupt King who is ruling the land, but rather the Reiss family, which has been in control the whole time. The lineage has the power to turn themselves into Titans. Once the crooked ruler is removed from power, Krista may become the new queen. The 10th best recruit of the 104th Training Corps is actually Historia Reiss, an apparent heir to the throne. Her friends are rumored to find out about this dark secret in the next season.

Parent Herald reported that fans are also speculating that they will be seeing more Titan fights, specifically between Rogue and Armored Titans. Additionally, Eren, who has sworn to eradicate every Titan from their kingdom, has become more of a problem rather than part of the solution.

Based on the official poster for season 2, it is speculated that the "Clash of the Titans" story will continue on. The Survey Corps is there, as well as the Titan form of Eren in a duel with the Colossal Titan, as previously reported.

Fans can expect more spoilers and updates as the season's release date comes closer. For now, "Attack on Titan" aficionados will have to wait until the first quarter of 2017 to get a glimpse of what is in store for them.
