'Attack on Titan' season 2 could be the last of the series

Could season two of "Attack on Titan" really end up being the show's last hurrah?

That's the word going around now online, as numerous rumors suggest that the end is drawing near for the hit series.

It would seem counterintuitive to predict such a quick demise for a series that has largely seemed successful, but if the show is to end, it apparently won't be because it will be lacking support.

"Attack on Titan" was not created with a lengthy series in mind, so a quick end was probably a distinct possibility anyway, although it would seem that an extension could be in order if the show continues to succeed.

Still, the anime adaptation of "Attack on Titan" may have no choice but to close shop sooner rather than later anyway.

According to Yibada, the manga upon which the show is based on is already more than halfway done, and upon its completion, it will have only about three years' worth of storylines. That would seem to suggest that even if "Attack on Titan" were to live past a second season, the next one after that may still end up being the end.

Despite the end for "Attack on Titan" possibly coming sooner than what fans may have wanted, there's still season two for them look forward to, and it is promising to feature a lot of surprising events.

According to Crossmap, the second season of the show is expected to feature the unfortunate and untimely demise of Levi Ackerman.

Fans have known about the rumors predicting Levi's death for a while now, and though the animated series is not a lock to kill off this popular character just yet, most people are still preparing for the worst when it comes to him.

"Attack on Titan" season two will premiere in 2016.
