'Attack On Titan' season 2 release date in 2015: 2014 premiere date is false

Earlier this month, there were reports that "Attack On Titan" Season 2 will premiere on July 26, 2014. Even JapNation AniManga confirmed the release date. However, this news is just a joke and the second season won't be released until 2015.

The false reports circulated since April and many anime reporters didn't take the report as an April Fool's Prank. Now that everyone has learned the truth, there's a disappointing feeling of being led on. True enough, iDigitalTimes confirmed that show creator Wit Studios hasn't even begun working on season 2 yet, which is why it is slated to be released in 2015.

2015 seems like a long wait for "Attack On Titans" fans, but there's something else that Wit Studios is working on. According to iDigitalTimes, Wit Studios is busy working on another anime to be packaged with the "Attack On Titan" manga. This goes without saying that there won't be new content or a season 2 anytime soon.

Head of Wit Studios had spoken about this matter in January, saying, "The manga comic the anime is based on is still ongoing, and all of us on the staff are following and loving it. Eventually, we definitely want to do a sequel. This year, though, we've got our hands full producing an anime that will be bundled in a limited edition of the Attack on Titan manga, which tells a different sort of story than what we did in the TV series."

Meanwhile, fans can catch the season 1, part 2 on DVD and Blu-Ray which will be available on September 23. Also, the live action movie of "Attack On Titan" will hit theaters in Japan in November.
