Asus ZenFone 3 Deluxe release date: reports of a top-tier Deluxe version coming soon

 Asus Pressroom

While Asus has yet to confirm the roll-out schedule for its new ZenFone 3 lineup, speculations say that another batch of Deluxe editions will be added soon.

While Asus has already revealed at least three new versions of the new ZenFone 3 lineup, observers believe that there are more on the way. While the company has yet to confirm it, it is already expected that the ZenFone 3, ZenFone 3 Deluxe, and the ZenFone 3 Ultra will have more variants soon – at least for the Deluxe version. According to rumors, a top-tier iteration of the ZenFone 3 Deluxe is on its way.

Reportedly, this new ZenFone 3 variant will feature a Snapdragon 821 processor, clearly a notch higher than the current top-tier Snapdragon 820 chipset. This is a chipset that offers slightly higher specs than the SD 820 variant.

Meanwhile, there are also rumors that aside from Snapdragon 821, a ZenFone 3 Deluxe offering a Snapdragon 823 chipset is also scheduled for release soon. While Qualcomm has yet to confirm these new SoC, rumors of a higher version of the SD 820 have been going around for some time now. Reportedly, the Snapdragon 823 chipset will be used in upcoming flagships like the Galaxy Note 7, Mi Note 2, and others. While the architecture for the new chipset remains the same, it is said that the SD 823 processor will offer a higher clock speed and an improved GPU.

Although Asus has yet to confirm these claims, new versions of the ZenFone 3 are highly possible. The previous-gen flagship, the ZenFone 2 lineup, was also released only in its base model and Deluxe variants, with more versions like the ZenFone 2 Laser being added later on.

However, although there are reports of new ZenFone 3 iterations in the pipeline, it is still unclear if Asus will also change the specs of the new Deluxe versions. The currene ZenFone 3 Deluxe is confirmed to have 6GB of RAM, a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display, onboard storage of up to 256 GB (expandable) and a 23MP main camera.
