It is already expected that Apple will release its next-gen iPhone next year. Speculations suggest that the much-anticipated iPhone 8 will bring major improvements and new features.

MacRumors states that according to reports out of South Korea, Apple is looking into a partnership with South Korea-based LG Electronics for a possible 3D camera for the iPhone 8. Supposedly, the Cupertino-based tech giant has tapped LG Innotek for the camera modules that will feature a dual-lens setup capable of 3D photography.

The industry follower said that as per the reports, the new 3D feature closely dovetails Apple's recent acquisitions, particularly with Israeli tech maker LinX Imaging. The company is a tech startup that specializes on 3D depth mapping and lighting enhancements. Apple bought the tech startup last year, and its services are already present in tech features in the iPhone 7 camera enhancements.

Meanwhile, Apple is reportedly introducing other enhancements for its iPhone 8 camera setup. According to Forbes, recent research notes by noted analyst and Apple soothsayer Ming-Chi Kuo touched on dual OIS feature for its iPhone 8 camera. Should this prove true, this will be a major upgrade for the current dual-cam setup in the iPhone 7 Plus. Currently, the iPhone flagship only features OIS in its wide-angle lens. Dual OIS for the iPhone 8 means that both lenses, including the telephoto, will have optical image stabilization that will result in much sharper and clearer image captures.

Aside from the new camera setup, other major upgrades are also expected for the iPhone 8. Speculations say that the upcoming Apple flagship will have an overhauled design with its body having an all-glass construction. Meanwhile, other improvements likely include an all-new A11 chipset, at least 3 GB of RAM, and a near bezel-less display with Touch ID sensor already baked underneath the display glass, ditching the physical home button.
