Android Nougat 7.0 update: Moto Z family to receive update soon?

The Moto Z family is supposedly being updated to Android Nougat 7.0. Motorola U.S.

Most tech makers are getting ready to launch the new Android Nougat platform. Speculations suggest that the latest to join the update schedule is Lenovo, rolling out the Nougat 7.0 version to the Moto Z family.

According to Android Police, many Verizon subscribers are reporting that they are receiving update notifications for Android Nougat 7.0 on their Moto Z Droid and Moto Z Droid flagships. In addition, the notification update is for a full version rollout, not a beta platform. This means that the new platform update will bring the new features and improvements included in the Android Nougat 7.0 version. Reportedly, the new update even brings full access to the new Daydream mode, split-screen multitask features, and Camera API 2 support.

One additional hint that the update brings the full version of Android Nougat 7.0 is that the download comes in as a massive 1.5 GB file.

Meanwhile, with the new update starting with the Droid editions, it is expected that it is just a matter of time before the Android Nougat 7.0 update also rolls out to the global, unlocked version of the Moto Z family. This also marks the new flagship lineup as the first Moto series to get Android Nougat.

It is certainly expected, since like most tech makers, Lenovo and Motorola are likely to place its most recent flagship — the Moto Z — as the first in the queue, working downwards in the list. This means that next in the update list are the new Moto G and Moto E releases. Since the update has already started, Lenovo is likely to continue the update, with at least the new Moto G4 and Moto E 2016 receiving the Android Nougat 7.0 update before the year ends.

Lenovo starting the update late in the year is long expected, since it is high time that tech makers update their device lineups to Android Nougat 7.0. Google has released the stock ROM for months now. In fact, the Android developer is already preparing an Android 7.1 major update.
