Android Nougat 7.0 release date, update: Platform arriving with beta program on the Samsung Galaxy S7 on Nov. 9

According to speculations, Samsung will officially start its Android Nougat 7.0 updates with a beta program for the Galaxy S7 that will go live on Nov. 9.

SamMobile reports that the beta program will likely be structured, much like the test versions for the previous-gen Galaxy S6 and Galaxy S6 edge. This means that Galaxy S7 and S7 edge owners will need to download the Galaxy Beta app and register. However, registration does not automatically mean enrollment in the beta test for the Android 7.0 Nougat, as Samsung will be the one to select participants.

Accordingly, previous reports mention that the Galaxy Beta program may have already started in the UK as Samsung has pulled down the Galaxy Beta app download page, hinting that the beta may have already reached its maximum number of participants. Meanwhile, it is revealed that aside from the UK, the beta program that will go live tomorrow will be a global rollout. The Android Nougat 7.0 testing program will be available for the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge owners in the US, South Korea, and China as well.

Supposedly, aside from the UK, the beta program for the other regions will also have a controlled number of beta testers. The program is purportedly limited to Verizon, T-Mobile, and Sprint subscribers in the US, while in South Korea, the Galaxy S7 flagships will need to be registered to KT, SKTelecom, or LG U+ carriers.

Samsung has already said that it will roll out the Android Nougat 7.0 version before the year ends. Unsurprisingly, the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge are the first ones to receive the update since the South Korea-based tech giants work on their device list starting with the most recent release. With the Galaxy Note 7 recalled and discontinued, the early-2016 flagship Galaxy S7 is, again, the foremost top-tier lineup for the tech maker.
