Although Google is almost ready to roll out the full version of its Android N platform, most devices are still being upgraded to the current-gen Android Marshmallow version.

The latest to get Android Marshmallow are the 2016 editions of the Samsung Galaxy J3 and Galaxy J7. According to GSM Arena, having an Android Marshmallow update for the 2016 version of the Galaxy J7 is already expected since the iteration is one of the most popular handsets in the industry observer's database. The Android 6.0 update is already rolling out to the Galaxy J3 (2016) and, since it is considered a major upgrade, comes in as a hefty 1.04 GB download. As with previous updates, those who have yet to receive the OTA notification can manually check if the Android M file is already available for download via the Settings and About Phone tabs.

Meanwhile, although Samsung has yet to roll out the Android Marshmallow update to the Samsung Galaxy J3, fans can already expect the new version to roll out soon. Reportedly, a revised user manual for the 2016 edition of the base model Galaxy J series hints at the new features of Android 6.0.1, meaning that users can expect the download to begin soon.

Aside from the smartphone lineups, Samsung is also steadily increasing the number of tablets getting the Android Marshmallow platform. The South Korea-based tech conglomerate has started the Android 6.0 rollout for some of its Galaxy Tab lineups. Just recently, the new platform reached the Galaxy Tab A 8.0.

According to Yibada, although Android Marshmallow for the Galaxy Tab A 8.0 is only available in Australia to date, the upgrade is a global release. This means that other regions like the U.S., Canada, India and other parts of the world can expect the update to roll out soon.
