Although tech manufacturers are still in the stages of putting the new Android M platform on their devices, big-name tech companies like Samsung are already finalizing their Android 6.0 jump for their flagships.

According to the latest reports, the South Korea-based tech giant has launched a beta testing program and now looking for beta testers, particularly for the Android M platform on Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge.

In a report by SamMobile, it is stated that this decision by Samsung was a welcome step to counter negative feedback when firmware and software updates are concerned. Although Samsung has a long list of Android-run devices and the company tests each update being released, previous Android builds were marred with numerous issues, and Samsung had to release fixes and improvement versions to fix the problems. By having a beta program, consumer feedback will be an addition to the tests, aside from the team of Samsung developers.

In South Korea, Samsung's new beta program is launching for the country's KT and LG U+ mobile carriers. Owners of the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge on these two mobile carriers will take part in the beta program launch, noted Gadgets 360.

Meanwhile, GSM Arena reported that the beta program, earlier rumored to be exclusive only to South Korea, was also launched in other areas. The industry follower stated that some users of the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge flagships in the U.K. reported receiving a beta Android M download notification. Based on the screenshots that the report presented, the Android M beta build for Samsung users in the U.K. highlighted some UI and screen changes.

The industry follower added that the beta program is rumored to end next month, with Jan. 18 pegged as the end date. If the end date rumor is proven true, then Galaxy S6 and S6 owners might receive the official Android M build by late February onwards.
