2016 MacBook Pro release date, specs: Apple readying to launch new MacBooks this year?

While it is already expected that Apple will come out with new MacBooks, it still remains to be seen when fans can expect the new lineups. Industry observers believe that Apple will launch the new MacBooks, including the 2106 Pro edition, in October. Meanwhile, the new lineups are said to be released just in time for the holidays.

Apple has already confirmed that there will be a press event next week, sending out press invites for September 7. However, observers agree that the Cupertino-based tech giant is more likely to focus on the new iPhone, as well as the Apple Watch 2. Meanwhile, speculations suggest that Apple will have another press event come October, this time highlighting its new workstation lineups, including the 2016 MacBook Pro.

While Apple has yet to confirm the late 2016 launch, hints about the new MacBook Pro have already made it online. BGR reports that a source code from the new "Apple Pages" app hints on a customized function row in the new MacBook Pro, hinting that the new iteration is already integrated in future Apple app launches. This means that the MacBook Pro is likely to release soon. In addition, the source code also confirms previous rumors that an overhauled MacBook Pro is in the works, since the code lines refer to the supposed customizable OLED strip panel on the 2016 edition.

Aside from the new OLED strip panel, the 2016 MacBook Pro is expected to come out with top-tier specs upgrades, like the seventh-gen Kaby Lake processor, as well as AMD graphics.

Meanwhile, another hint that Apple is readying a late 2016 release for the new MacBook Pro is that some third-party retailers have started slashing off their original prices for the current-gen MacBooks. In addition, the discounts are also extended to include the current iPad lineups, which may also mean a new Apple slate is likely to appear before the year ends.
