Xiaomi is expected to debut its newest flagship tomorrow. However, supposed details continue to surface about the upcoming Mi Note 2. New speculations suggest that the flagship will retail at around $590.

Rumors out of China hint that the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 will have a starting price tag of 3999 Yuan, around $590. This is much higher than previous speculations, leading to observers to say that the top-tier Mi Note 2, supposed to come out with at least $850 price tag. If this will be the case, then it will be the most expensive Xiaomi flagship yet. The China-based tech maker is known to provide flagships with top-tier specs, almost the same as with big-name brands like Samsung, but with more competitive price tags.

Should the base model of the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 start at $590, a higher price is still competitive enough, considering the specs and features for the upcoming flagship. Prior to its Oct. 25 launch, the specs and features list for the new flagship was leaked online. According to a supposed leaked presentation slide, the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 will sport a 5.7-inch display with QHD resolution, as well as a pressure-sensitive feature. This means that the flagship will have 3D Touch-like interface. There is also an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor, as well as an iris scanner.

Under the hood, it is said that the Mi Note 2 will run on the step-up Snapdragon 821 chipset, with the base version having 4 GB of RAM. A premium variant will feature 6 GB of RAM. Onboard storage starts at 64 GB, and the premium version may get as much as 256 GB of native storage.

One noted improvement for the Mi Note 2 is the supposed dual camera setup for its main shooter. On the leaked document, it is mentioned that the flagship will sport Sony sensors, the main one having 23 MP (Sony IMX318 sensor), paired with a 12 MP one (Sony IMX378 sensor). The selfie shooter is an 8 MP setup.
