Although Xiaomi has yet to confirm a specific release date for the Mi Note 2, speculations suggest that the new flagship will come out sometime this month. The rumors are bolstered by supposed unofficial teasers for the new device.

An alleged unofficial teaser for the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 surfaced on China-based social media site Weibo. However, PlayfulDroid cautions that the image remains "unofficial," pending confirmation from Xiaomi. Looking at the supposed device in the image, however, it matches supposed leaks and rumors about the upcoming Mi Note 2.

Should the supposed teaser become official, it confirms that the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 will launch with a dual camera setup for its main shooter. The industry follower even likened the upcoming device to the iPhone 7 Plus due to the new feature. Although Xiaomi has yet to come out with the specs list of the Mi Note 2, previous speculations have already spelled out the dual camera feature. Most recent releases already have a dual cam setup (including the iPhone 7 Plus), so it is highly possible that Xiaomi will be the next in line to come out with the feature.

Meanwhile, as to when fans can expect the new device, earlier speculations have mentioned that the Xiaomi Mi Note 2 may come out later this year. However, with the supposed leaked images and press renders already out, it is more likely that the debut is scheduled sometime soon. In addition, it is already confirmed that Xiaomi's other China-based tech rival, Huawei, will hold a Nov. 3 press launch. It is possible then that Xiaomi will want to take advantage of this timeline and release a flagship much earlier than Huawei.

As for the Mi Note 2, other purported specs include a step-up Snapdragon 821 chipset, 6 GB of RAM, and 64 GB of internal storage. There are also reports that mention a top-tier, "Pro" version of the Mi Note 2, ostensibly with a massive 8-GB RAM and 256 GB of onboard storage.
