Xiaomi Mi Note 2 leaked renders: New flagship to launch at IFA 2016 with SD 821, 6GB RAM?

The latest supposed leaks showcase the upcoming Mi Note 2, leading to speculations that Xiaomi will be highlighting the new flagship at the upcoming IFA later this week.

Some of the leaked images capture the flagship's settings, confirming the specs of the Xiaomi Mi Note 2. Reportedly, the Mi Note 2 will feature a new flagship chipset, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor. Meanwhile, the new chipset will be paired with a 6GB RAM for the top-tier version with 128GB of onboard storage, while a base model Mi Note 2 with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage may also be launched. While both versions will have a 5.5-inch display, the base model will likely feature a 1080p-resolution screen, while the higher variant will have a 2K display. The full lineup is also said to carry dual curved edge screens.

However, though the supposed leaks have been circulating for some time, not all observers are convinced that a 6-GB RAM for the Mi Note 2 is coming out. According to WCCFTech, while some flagships already have their own versions of premium variants with 6GB of RAM (like the ZenFone 3 Deluxe), the supposed leaks confirming the RAM capacity for the Mi Note 2 seems too good to be true. The industry follower believes that some enterprising fans may be behind the rumor. It should be noted that prior to the Mi Note 2, another flagship, Samsung's Galaxy Note 7, was also rumored to be coming out with 6GB of RAM. However, Samsung decided to stick to the standard 4GB one.

Meanwhile, the Mi Note 2 appearing in the 2016 IFA is highly likely, as Xiaomi has been on a roll recently. After the release of its Mi 5 flagship, the China-based tech maker also expanded its Redmi lineup, coming out with mid-ranger and above-average iterations. The latest to debut from the lineup is the Redmi Note 4, and speculations suggest that the Redmi 4 is also coming out soon.
