Xiaomi just recently launched its newest addition to its smartphone lineups, the 6.4-inch Mi Max. Now, it seems that the tech conglomerate is also looking to expand to other niches as the company announced at least two new additions to its product lines.

Xiaomi has just revealed that it will be releasing its first-ever drone soon. Although the confirmation is just a teaser on its company forums, the teaser image itself has a clear outline of what appears to be a quadcopter. In addition, the thread itself is dubbed a new product launch for the "Mi drone."

The new Xiaomi drone is expected to be officially unveiled during a press launch on Wednesday, May 25.

According to Engadget, rumors of a new drone made by Xiaomi have been circulating for some time now. Apparently, the new drone is closely tied to another company product, the Mi Band. The follow-up to the wearable may have a "follow me" option for the drone.

The industry follower also believes that with Xiaomi now entering the drone market, the industry will shift soon. Xiaomi is known to provide top-tier specs for its products but at much friendlier prices than competitors.

Meanwhile, aside from the upcoming UAV, Xiaomi has also revealed that in the U.S. market it will launch the 4K-capable Mi Box. The Android-powered set-top box streams 4K content and can also support Google Cast. While the price tag and availability for the Mi Box is yet to be announced in the U.S., it is expected that it will be released with competitive prices.

It remains to be seen if Xiaomi will also be marketing its smartphone flagships in the U.S. The most recent addition, the Mi Max phablet, is one of the largest in the industry, coming out with a 6.4-inch display. Under the hood, the massive phablet features an above-average Snapdragon chipset with either 3GB or 4GB RAM, depending on the configuration.
