It is expected that Xiaomi will unveil the new Mi 5s flagship on Sept. 27. However, ahead of its supposed launch, it is supposedly "confirmed" that the flagship will have dual camera setup and a base price tag of $300.

According to GSM Arena, reports out of China have already leaked some details on the Xiaomi Mi 5s, including its flagship specs and price range. Supposedly, although the prices may have gone up, the new iteration will still offer budget-friendly price tags. The base model for the Xiaomi Mi 5s will reportedly retail for CNY 1,999 or around $300. This tag is for the Mi 5s with Snapdragon 821 processor and 6 GB of RAM, and it is supposed to feature the same 5.15-inch display with 1080p resolution. Meanwhile, a top-tier variant, dubbed as the Mi 5s Plus, will reportedly carry a CNY 2,999 price tag (about $449). This premium version will have the same SD 821 chipset and 6 GB of RAM. However, the premium version will get an upgrade to 256 GB of onboard storage and a 5.7-inch display with QHD resolution.

Aside from the prices, some leaks also apparently confirmed that the Mi 5s will come with a dual camera setup. According to Phone Arena, some leaked press images of the new flagship surfaced online, showcasing the dual camera setup for the Xiaomi Mi 5s. In addition, it is also said that the assembly also includes a dual-tone LED flash. While Xiaomi has yet to provide an official confirmation, this camera setup is already expected in the new flagship. Some of the recent flagship releases carry the feature, most notably Huawei's Leica co-engineered P9 camera, as well as the LG G5.

As to when fans can expect the new flagship to roll out, speculations suggest that the Xiaomi Mi 5s will go on sale at the end of the month.
